FOR ME:
i use ad to earn instead of file hosting for password ,just be patient after u got more traffic those ad will earn u more
advice:
daily update is impotant to keep your visitor come back to your site
for me i try getting author to post on my site in return i give they link exchage

for me i dun earn per download but i earn earn view from megeupload as if you upload a whole video without splitted it into rar part u can allow ur visitor to view at megavideo so i earn point by those view but actually dun earn much from this
advice for those very serious in earning from file hosting site and have fast upload speed u can try upload to megaupload with one whole video and splitted it in rar for download by megaupload or other file hosting
i see alot high traffic site can earn w/o putting ad to their just by earning from those file hosting site ,so i guess u really can earn alot if got good traffic.
